Everyone loves holiday cards!

Last year around this time, I gave some tips on how to strengthen your network at the end of the year. One of those tips was to send a holiday card.

I love snail mail. Every year I prioritize sending letters and cards. I use this time of year to communicate with people in my network and send the message: I am glad that we know each other.

You are probably reading this because you are looking for your next role and you might ask: what does this have to do with finding a job? When you apply for a job and land a meeting with people you admire, be sure to stay in touch. This time of year is a great time to contact those people.

If hand-written cards aren’t your thing, a short email or text works just fine. Tell the person that you are psyched to have them in your network. Also, let them know that you can’t wait to see what happens in 2023.

Next up: an exciting announcement!

As a Get Hired reader, you get to know about jobs before they launch. Be on the lookout for a new role with the Sierra Club: National Organizing Director. We will announce it early next year.
