JOB SEEKERS: HERE ARE THE BEST PLACES TO LOOK FOR JOB
There are many, many different job listservs and job boards out there. It can be overwhelming, and if you sign up for too many, you could be drowning in emails -- many of which might not actually be all that helpful for your search.
So, here are the best places I’d recommend for job searching, particularly for progressive and social justice organizations:
Job sites/listservs: Idealist, Progressive Exchange, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, Democratic GAIN/Jobs That Are Left, Impact Jobs, Arena Careers and Gamechanger Salon (requires nomination).
Social media: Facebook groups can also be good places to find job postings. Oftentimes, they can be targeted to your particular interest. Examples: Justice Jobs, Jobs & Opps in Faith-Rooted Social Justice and Remote Nonprofit.
Location-based websites: Each state and industry has their own, more targeted sites. For example, if you’re looking for communications jobs, check out Radical Communicators Network. If you’re looking for jobs in California, sign up for Dan’s List. For more ideas, ask people in your network what job sites they use and post to.
Of course, these are just a tiny fraction of what’s out there. I want to hear from you: What job sites do you use and find helpful?
Here are the top three jobs we’re featuring this week:
Chief of Campaigns at The Center for Popular Democracy; $142,500-$165,000; Flexible location.
National Data and Coaching Manager for State Voices; $55,000-$60,000; Washington, DC preferred (remote during COVID-19).
Equity & Racial Justice Coordinator at Make the Road New York; Bushwick, NY.
As always, if you find this newsletter helpful, forward it to your friends and help us build our network!
Hope you’re staying safe this holiday season,
Naomi
